Our family camp is a small rustic retreat offering big memories. Enjoy camping, fishing, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, and hiking while surrounded by scenic views and plenty of adventure nearby.

Sharon Park and River Access
Although we are not located directly on the river, Sharon Park and River Access is across the street from the campground, offering easy access to the river. With a large rentable pavilion and plenty of wide open space, it’s perfect for many outdoor activities.

Clifton Forge Va
With a rich history dating back to the 1700’s, you’ll find the relaxed pace of this friendly little country town refreshing. Do some shopping, take in a show at the historic Masonic Theater, or hit the local pub for some great food and craft beer. Clifton Forge is less than 10 minutes away from Smokey’s Hideaway and has a little something for everybody.

Falling Spring Falls
Falling Spring Falls is a scenic 80-foot waterfall in Virginia’s Alleghany Highlands. A popular spot with picnic areas and paved paths for easy access, offering stunning views of the falls and surrounding mountains. Only 30 minutes from Smokey’s Hideaway.

Douthat State Park
Amid some of Virginia’s most breathtaking mountain scenery, visitors enjoy four miles of stream fishing, a 50-acre lake stocked with trout, a sandy swimming beach with a snack bar, boat rentals, a gift shop and camp store, and more than 43 miles of hiking, mountain biking and bridle trails. A short 15 minute drive from Smokey’s Hideaway. Plus, there are playgrounds, an amphitheater, and picnic areas.

The Warm Springs Pools
If you’re looking something fun and unique to do after a long day of hiking then experience the serenity and healing properties of The Warm Springs Pools 30 miles north. At a constant 98 °F year-round, these waters have been known to promote blood circulation, ease skin problems, and promote better sleep.

Humpback Bridge
Built in 1857, the Humpback Bridge is the only covered, humpback bridge remaining in the United States. Fans of covered bridges come from all over the world to admire the historic bridge. It is now part of a five-acre wayside park and only about 20 minutes from Smokey’s Hideaway.
